Observational drawing + painting with David Fenoglio
We're excited to be welcoming David Fenoglio to the Atelier for a new class on Tuesday nights.
David holds a Bachelor of fine art from Griffith University Queensland College of Art and a Graduate Diploma of Education in Visual Art, QUT. He has also undertaken study with artist studios in Europe and the USA. Over the past few years he has exhibited nationally being selected as a finalist for a number of art awards.
David's new classes are designed for students at beginner to intermediate levels. Fundamental concepts and methods are coherently taught through a logical progression of practice and theory. Students move through at their own pace. For students with significant drawing practice, these basics will first be outlined before moving onto a more complex level to ensure instructor and student are talking the same language and learning opportunities are optimised.
Learning to draw accurately from observation of the natural world provides the artist with necessary tools to draw just about anything they can imagine.
Concepts, methods and techniques covered in practical application will be linked with art history to provide students with context and deepen their understanding.
Classes in painting will also be provided once students have progressed through initial drawing tasks.
Students of university fine art, animation, architecture and design will benefit from this course. Hobby artists and the more serious career artist will also benefit. Students wanting to build a portfolio for TAFE, university entry or even a tattoo apprenticeship are encouraged to attend.
