Light and AiR comes to the Corridor Gallery

AiR (Artists in Redcliffe) is a group of professional artists from the Redcliffe region. We're very pleased to welcome them to our studio for their exhibition which runs from 12th November until 12th December 2016.

In this exhibition, AiR show a selection of work from their recent exhibition at the Aspire Gallery in Paddington (Brisbane).

Join us to view their works and meet the artists at the opening night Saturday 12th November at 6.30pm. Enjoy a BBQ here too!

Individuals in the group work in paint, print, ink, clay, thread, mixed and interactive media – appealing to a diverse audience, young and old.

Despite exhibiting together for over 10 years, each artist maintains a fiercely independent approach to their practice – resulting in work that is neither hackneyed nor predictable.

For such a small group, the artists have mustered many sparkling awards along the way.

Patricia Reust won the National Mortimor Art Prize in 2014 and John A Robinson was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Jacaranda Drawing Prize in 2014 – an exhibition that tours regional galleries NSW and Queensland.

Patricia and John were also selected to display in Moreton Bay's premier annual art event titled '15 Artists'. Barry Kidd and Cheryl Nugent have also participated in this exhibition on another occassion.

Maureen van der Zam was awarded 2nd prize overall for her print in St Steven's Cathedral Art Group Winter Exhibition 2016.

In 2013 Air was featured in a promotional documentary titled 'Light and Air' which was produced by David Sproule. The group has promoted its activities through publications, radio interviews and grant applications.

The AiR group consists of: Barry Kidd, Cheryl Nugent, Fran Robinson, John A Robinson, Liane Worth, Malcolm Cassidy, Maureen van der Zalm, and Tricia Reust.
