Upcoming Workshop: Rodrigo Luff May 2014
Rodrigo Luff will be familiar to many students of our Atelier, having spent a few weeks with us in 2011. Rods work has enchanting, ethereal qualitieswhich have made him a very popular artist in the USA, having held sell-outshows in Los Angeles and San Fransisco.
Rodrigo will be presenting a Saturday workshop over three weekends at Atelier Art Classes. The workshop will concentrate upon the composition of portraits in which the models head and hands are the primary focus.
Rods graphic technique is an extraordinary blend of traditional pencil drawing and colouring techniques which give a beautiful glow to his work. See them for yourself by ensuring your place on this not to be repeated workshop.

Rodrigo Luff currently resides in Sydney, Australia. On finishing High School Rodrigo won a youth scholarship to the prestigious Julian Ashton Art School, finishing his studies there some years later in 2009.
In April 2011, he had his debut solo show, "Anima" with Phone Booth Gallery, LA. In May that year, his second solo show, "The Moleskine Project" opened at Spoke Art Gallery, San Francisco and sold out. His third solo show "Aurora" opened July 13th at Thinkspace Gallery in LA.
He also co-curated the "Moleskine Project 2" and "Moleskine Project 3" at Spoke Art Gallery with Ken Harman in December 2012 and 2013 as well as exhibiting in group shows in numerous galleries in Australia and the USA.
Rodrigo Luff currently resides in Sydney, Australia.
The workshops will run between 10.00am and 4.00pm with an hour for lunch from 12.30pm. There are a good number of food outlets close to hand, or bring your own lunch. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day.
The workshop will take place at the Old Bomb Factory, the home of Atelier Art Classes and Salisbury Studios Queensland Incorporated, whose studios are situated at Unit 2b/9 Chrome St. in Salisbury, a fifteen minute drive from Brisbane's city centre. Free on-street parking is readily available.
Please be aware that these workshops would not be suitable for beginning artists.
The Atelier will supply easels and donkeys. No tables will be made available. If you prefer to use a donkey, please let us know when you book your course.
This course places a heavy emphasis on drawing. For the workshop we suggest that you bring your usual preferred range drawing materials and equipment. The size and quality is up to you, but 60x40cm or similar should suit most people. A small range of drawing materials will be available for purchase on the day, at competitive prices.

The three Saturday workshops cost a total of $192.00. Places are limited to twelve paying students for all workshops. Your place can be secured by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org whereupon we will provide our bank details so that you can make the appropriate bank transfer. Alternatively, we accept cash, and have EFTPOS and credit card facilities at the studio. A 50% deposit or full payment will secure your place.
