Francis Giacco October workshops.
Frank will be joining us for three days of workshops from 18-20th of October. Frank is a Sydney based Artist who is represented in many public and private collections, and has won numerous awards, including the Archibald Prize, for his distinctive and fine painting. Frank has also been a teacher at the Julian Ashton Art School for many years.
He will be delivering two workshops for us; a one day workshop on Friday 18th October, and a two day workshop on Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th October. The workshops will focus upon painting the portrait from the model. in oils (with prior notice we can make provision for painting from the figure). A suggested materials list is set out below. Please be aware that these workshops would not be suitable for inexperienced painters.
The workshops will run between 10.00am and 4.00pm with an hour for lunch from 12.30pm. There are a good number of food outlets close to hand, or bring your own lunch. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day. The workshop will take place at the Old Bomb Factory, the home of Atelier Art Classes, whose studios are situated at Unit 2b/9 Chrome St. in Salisbury, a fifteen minute drive from Brisbane's city centre. Free on-street parking is readily available.
The Atelier will supply easels and donkeys. No tables will be made available. If you prefer to use a donkey, please let us know when you book your course.
We suggest that you bring your usual preferred range of oil paints and equipment. The canvas size and quality is up to you, but 60x40cm or similar should suit most people. A small range of colours will be available for purchase on the day at competitive prices.
Please note: WH&S requirements demand that only odourless solvent is used in the studio.
Workshops cost $110 and $220 for the Friday and weekend workshops respectively.
Places are limited to ten paying students for both workshops, (more than half of which have already been sold, as of 16/09/13). Your place can be secured by emailing us at email@example.com whereupon we will provide our bank details so that you can make the appropriate bank transfer. Alternatively, we accept cash, and have EFTPOS and credit card facilities at the studio. A 50% deposit or full payment will secure your place.
