Scott Breton's scholarship study tour begins: who takes the reins?

Atelier Art Classes teacher Scott Breton will be away on a study tour for the whole of September, October and November 2013 (Scott received the 2012 AME Bale Travelling Scholarship for representational and traditional art at end of 2012).

In Scott's place, popular painting tutor Penelope Gilbert-Ng will be teaching the Tuesday morning and Tuesday afternoon sessions at Atelier Art Classes.  This is great opportunity to learn from this masterful painter and sought after tutor.  Students will particularly benefit from her sensitivity for portraiture, her knowledge and skills of direct Alla Prima painting, and her creative, striking colour sense.   This is also a great opportunity for students to learn about different media (Penelope is fluent with oils, acrylics, pastels and water colour), particularly since we have not offered watercolour regularly before.

And don't worry, Penelope will help beginners develop the basic skills of drawing from the cast and still life as usual.

Scott's Wednesday evening life class (figure drawing from the model) will be tutored by Ryan Daffurn, one of the other Atelier Art Classes teachers that many of you already know.  This is great chance to benefit from Ryan's exceptional draughtsmanship and insightful teaching of figure drawing, which are usually only available during the one block out of three Saturday classes that Ryan teaches.
